Flooding disaster hits estate dwellers

Tiffany Gardens and Bassonia Rock estates were severely damaged after water chamber burst flooding all the properties.

DAMAGED: Property in Rooigras Avenue was also damaged by the flood water after it came down through Tiffany Gardens.

Tiffany Gardens and Bassonia Rock estates, both in Bassonia, were flooded after a water chamber burst early in the morning on New Year’s Day.

TRASHED: The bedroom of the Hudson’s home.

DISASTER: Tiffany Gardens was hit by huge rocks, sand and soil.

HAVOC: This home in Bassonia Rock estate also suffered damage.

ROADS CLEARED: Rubble is still being removed from the driveways throughout Tiffany Gardens.

DESTROYED: Rooigras Avenue will need resurfacing after the New Year’s Day flooding.

FLOODED: The mess left behind after the New Year’s Day flooding.

RIPPED APART: The force of the water wrenched these garage doors off.

BROKEN: A couple had to break a door down to escape their flooding bedroom.

CLEAN-UP: Roads in Tiffany Gardens had to be cleared of rubble.

LAWN DAMAGE: A resident in Rooigras Avenue had just planted new lawn.

HAVOC: Gates and a wall were completely ripped apart.

DEMOLISHED: A home in Bassonia Rock estate.

SHIFTED: The force of the water shifted this resident’s wall.

SHOCKED; Gary Hudson’s home in Bassonia Rock estate suffered severe damage.

SMASHED: A resident’s car at Tiffany Gardens was damaged by rocks, sand and soil.
