[GALLERY + VIDEOS]: Mariska Plocker thrilled to be the winner of the Ford Ranger 2.2 Double Cab

“I can’t believe it,” said a shocked, but thrilled, Mariska.

ON January 26, excitement grew as the 18 finalists gathered at Pick n Pay Mulbarton, Panorama Shopping Centre, to see who would be the lucky winner in the competition, Splash into Summer, winning a Ford Ranger 2.2 Double Cab.

Owner of Pick n Pay, Bruno Barradas, and his staff made the 18 finalists feel comfortable as they were seated around a table with refreshments. They each received a hamper and the women finalists also received an orchid.

Bruno interviewed each finalist, asking them how winning the vehicle would make a difference in their lives and then each drew a number. This enabled them, in numerical order, to draw a key with a remote button. It was nailbiting as the finalists each had a turn to press the remote until the one finalist, Mariska Plocker, drew the winning key and remote and the vehicle was opened.

“I can’t believe it,” said a shocked, but thrilled, Mariska. Incidentally, Mariska was the very first finalist from the beginning of the competition last October.

Her son Lemondré (4), her sister and niece were standing by and whooped with delight when Mariska’s remote opened the vehicle.

Bruno thanked all the finalists for shopping at Pick n Pay Mulbarton and for taking time out of their busy day to come through to the draw and congratulated Mariska on her win.

“Enjoy driving this great vehicle. We hope it brings you lots of happiness.”
