Glenvista Shopping Centre comments on armed robbery

On the evening of June 3 a group of men attempted to rob a store within Glenvista Shopping Centre.

GLENVISTA – During this attempt a customer was injured and taken to hospital. He was discharged the next day.

Security within the centre and Centre Management acted swiftly to ensure that the centre was secured and that all customers and staff were safe.

Glenvista Shopping Centre management attended to the scene immediately after the incident, and are fully cooperating with SAPS.

The security CCTV recorded footage of the incident from various angles, and a copy of the footage has been handed over to SAPS.

The staff and management of Glenvista Shopping centre would like to thank the SAPS, SOS Protec Sure, and Glenvista Community Policing Forum (GCPF) for their assistance during this unfortunate incident.

As this is an active investigation we are unable to release any more information in this regard.

“We would like to reassure the public and our shoppers that their safety is a priority when visitng the centre, and additional security measures have been put in place,” centre management said.

The centre is operating as usual and is open Monday to Sunday from 08:00 to 20:00.
