Three injured in three vehicle collision

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.

SOUTH OF JOHANNESBURG – Three people were injured this morning when a taxi collided with a truck and light motor vehicle at the Columbine and Golden Highway intersection in Johannesburg South.

When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene, they found a man in his 30s in a critical condition, trapped inside a large truck which lay on its side.
Jaws –of-life- equipment had to be used to free the patient from the truck before advance life support could be performed. Once freed from the vehicle, he was treated and thereafter transported to Baragwanath Hospital for urgent medical treatment.

The driver of the light motor vehicle and taxi both sustained moderate injuries in the collision. Paramedics treated them for their injuries and thereafter transported them to a nearby hospital for further observations.

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
