Traffic lights should eliminate danger at intersection

The intersection has seen many accidents over the years.

AFTER about six years of trying to get traffic lights at the intersection of Glen Avenue and Vorster Avenue, Glenanda, Ward 23 councillor Paul Smit, is happy they’ve finally been erected.

“This intersection has seen many accidents over the years and traffic lights have been needed here. I’m certain accidents will be far fewer now,” Smit said.

Resident of Glenanda and secretary of Glenvista Domestic Watch, Yolanda Robertson added, “This is fantastic news. For drivers getting out of Glen Avenue and pedestrians crossing Vorster Avenue, it has been an absolute nightmare. Glenanda Primary School is close by and schoolchildren have to daily cross Vorster Avenue. Now it will be so much safer for them.”
