RESIDENTS in some parts of Bassonia went without water for six days and many were angry that the outage lasted so long.
“I live in a complex on the corner of Soetdoring Avenue and Vingerpol Avenue, Bassonia and had no water from late Thursday afternoon, June 15 until late on Saturday evening, June 17. It wasn’t pleasant and I was angry but managed somehow and Johannesburg Water did bring Jojos, so we could get water from the corner of where I live,” said Maria van Heerden.
“It was a huge relief when the water came back and I’m hoping it won’t be off again any time soon.”
The CHRONICLE was unable to get any more information on the cause of the water disconnection but is awaiting comment from Johannesburg Water.
