Hartford College still sponsors the SA Guide Dog Association

The SA Guide Dog Association visited the school to show educators and learners how much their guide dog, Selleck, had grown.

HARTFORD College pre-school collected money in 2017 to sponsor the training of a guide dog and they have done it again.

The SA Guide Dog Association visited the school on April 20 to show educators and learners how much their guide dog, Seleck, had grown and that he would now move into his last stage of training to be a guide dog.

SPONSOR: Dante Pillay (Grade R) and Miss Kaylee Malan receive a picture from the marketing officer for SA Guide Dogs, Melani Nel, of the new guide dog pup, Henri, that the children at Hartford College are sponsoring.

“We were all very excited to meet our guide dog ‘pup’ and we were delighted to be able to hand over a further cheque to be used to train another puppy,” said the principal, Nicola Forbes.

The money was raised last term by learners and educators during their ‘Fun Food Day’. Food items were generously donated by parents of the Grade One to Three classes, while the rest of the school enjoyed buying the delicious food on offer. Much fun was had and a good cause has been supported.

FRIENDLY: Seleck the guide dog enjoys all the children’s pampering and attention.
