Brackenhurst Primary school choir show their stuff

This rare performance is one night only.

THE Brackenhurst Primary School’s Senior Choir was invited to perform with the Drakensberg Boys’ Choir on May 26 at the Joburg Theatre – they are the only primary school choir from Gauteng to be accorded this honour.

This choir, under the direction of Irene Morrick, was invited to perform at the Music in the Mountains Music Festival in the Drakensberg two weeks ago. They wowed the audience with their energy, musicality and ability to perform in five languages while singing in four-part harmony. Some choristers are only nine years old, yet they held their own in front of a critical international audience.

For this reason, they will perform again with the Drakies in a Choral Extravaganza, hosted by the Drakensberg Boys Choir in the Joburg Theatre on May 26 at 6pm. This will be the first official concert given by the Drakensberg Boys Choir in Joburg since June 2015. Be sure not to miss it.

This rare performance is one night only. Tickets are available at www.joburgtheatre.co.za and range from R150 up to R230. For enquiries about the event, or to book the Brackenhurst choir for your own event, pop an email to irenem@brackenprim.co.za
