WATCH: R100k up in smoke as Jomo Cosmos change rooms are vandalised

Children who play soccer will now suffer because of the vandals.

Vandals burned down Jomo Cosmos change rooms in Glenesk on August 16.

A member of Moffat View CPF, Charmaine du Toit, alerted the COURIER that there was a fire at the Jomo Cosmos training ground. Upon arrival, the change rooms were on fire.

Owner of Jomo Cosmos Jomo Sono was on scene. He said this is sad for the youngsters who use these change rooms before their practice.

“I’ve spent almost R100 000 on these change rooms and now they are all gone. For what? Scrap metal?” asked Sono.

Head of development for Jomo Cosmos coach Patrick Tshisikhawe said it started with vandals dismantling the one grandstand to sell the steel.

“We are now left with only two grandstands,” explained Tshisikhawe.
