Take a local tour of Christmas lights

The magic of Christmas lights is one of those small joys enjoyed by young and old alike.

There is no better time to publish addresses of those decorating for those who will be home for Christmas so that their families can enjoy an evening out while driving from home to home.

So, if you are decorating this Christmas, we are asking you to share in the spirit of the festive season and send us your address as well as the date and time your lights will be switched on.

You can forward your details to elzaanp@caxton.co.za and if you so wish, you can also forward photographs of your decorated and festive garden to the same email address.

Florentia

• The traffic circle at Loizos Café & Mini Mark.

• 13 Fick Street (lights will be switched on daily from December 1 to December 31 from 19:00 to 21:00, weather permitted).

New Redruth

• Stepping Stone Hospice’s Tree of Light at the beautiful Hospice Gardens at the corner of 15 Heidelberg and Ascot roads. The tree shines throughout December.

Worth the drive

• Joburg Zoo’s Festival of Lights at Jan Smuts Avenue and Upper Park Drive, Parkview, Johannesburg from November 25 to January 2. Open daily from 19:00 to 22:00 (except on Mondays).

• The Spectacular Festive Lights at Silverstar from November 24 to January 5 at the Silverstar Casino, R28, Muldersdrift, Mogale City, Gauteng.

• The Magical Italian Village of Lights at Montecasino from November 24 to January 5 from 07:00 to 22:00 daily at the Montecasino, Montecasino Boulevard, Fourways, Johannesburg.

• Destination Christmas 2021 At Melrose Arch from November 12 to January 9 at the Melrose Arch Precinct, Corlett Drive, Melrose North, Birnam, Johannesburg.
