Ward 38 councillor addresses condition of Kromvlei Cemetery

Ward 38 councillor Malcolm Maifala-Masebe recently conducted an oversight visit to the Kromvlei Cemetery to see its condition.

Ward 38 councillor Malcolm Maifala-Masebe was greeted by the long grass at Kromvlei Cemetery which has reportedly not been cut since last year.

This was during his oversight visit on January 13, where he was overseeing the condition of the Cemetery.

According to Maifala-Masebe, the reason given for the uncut grass is believed to be related to the lack of budget.

“Information coming from the office of the Member of Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Waste Management Services, Environmental Resource Management, Parks and Cemeteries indicates that the issues are across the City of Ekurhuleni,” he said.

Maifala-Masebe assured the RECORD that he has since sought the assistance of the Parks Department.
He also urged residents to be patient while long-term solutions are sought to resolve the matter.
