Local NGO empowers the vulnerable to be cycle breakers
Local NGO appeals for any form of donations in order to continue empowering less fortunate children.
The widely used proverb ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ still applies, however, in Eden Park it has taken one organisation to empower less fortunate youngsters.
Christ’s Hope International SA, an international NGO located in Eden Park as well as other neighbouring countries, is on a mission of transforming youngsters’ lives.
Established in Namibia, Christ’s Hope has over the years grown from serving in one country to branching out to seven countries.
Today and under Christian values, the local branch that only started taking care of seven children currently serves 100.
Christ’s Hope takes care of orphaned and vulnerable children.
According to Noleen Williams of Christ’s Hope, they provide them with physical, social and educational development, and also mental and spiritual growth.
“Our care point was started because of the level of poverty in the area. We want to grow another care point, by taking in at least 250 children. The children come here after school where they receive a meal and they then do their homework following a spiritual lesson,” said Williams.

She said they also help with school supplies and medical help that are within their reach.
Williams told the RECORD that they are dedicated to transforming the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children in extreme poverty.
“We have an opportunity to help raise a new generation of cycle breakers. We use a comprehensive model that focuses on meeting educational, physical, social, spiritual and emotional needs to ensure that we are effectively battling the cycle of Aids and poverty,” she said.
The organisation appeals for interested parties to support their cause with any form of donations. Should you be willing to lend a helping hand, contact Noleen Williams on 072 635 1965 or Marlene Adams on 076 527 2199.
