Dancers from Alberton bag top awards from England

After being selected to represent the country in England, five dancers from Yolande Danzawrx Dance School won top achiever awards in the championship.

Five dancers from Alberton’s Yolande Mostert Danzawrx Dance School (THE WRX) recently took home top awards at the Freestyle World Championship in Blackpool, England.

Kayla Crawford (9) was crowned U10 world champion in the freestyle and slow dance categories and came second in the championship’s couples event for the U10 age group

In the U12 couples division, Allegra Prohl came second. She was also placed fifth in the premiere freestyle section and sixth in the premier championship slow dance.

Tayla Jade Brits finished second in the U12 couples division. She also finished seventh in the premier championship slow dance and fourth in freestyle.

In the U12 supporting freestyle division, Kiara Lee Mostert finished fourth.

Tayla Tucker came 3rd in the under 10 Supporting Championship Freestyle section and she came 2nd in the under 10 couples Championship section.

Mostert said these dancers trained for months and performed in qualifying rounds to be selected to represent South Africa.

“Thank you to everyone who helped them make their dreams come true with our fundraisers and donations. We as THE WRX are incredibly proud of the trainers,” Yolande concluded.
