Pastor Andrew Jones from the Winds of Change Church in Mondeor donated blankets, fruit packages and boerewors rolls to at least 30 less fortunate families around the south of Joburg after church on August 21.
Andrew said it has always been his passion to give back to the community. Winds of Change Church often visit the beneficiaries on their church list and areas in the south of Joburg to assess whether or not they are really in need.
“Elders, pensioners, the disabled, orphans or sick are always first priority to me,” said Andrew.
He quoted one of Nelson Mandela’s sayings: “What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life that we lead.”
Andrew thanked the cooking team for sacrificing their time cooking for the people of God.
