A dramatic high-speed chase in Glenvista on September 15 ended with the arrest of a hijacking suspect and the recovery of a stolen vehicle and firearm.
Authorities received information about a hijacking incident in the Glenvista area, prompting a swift response from multiple agencies, including Highway Patrol units, Fox Security, JMPD TRU, Alberton SAPS, and Rentrak, among others.
Alberton SAPS station commander Colonel Olivein Letloenyane said an individual was arrested after being found in a hijacked vehicle.
“Investigations are ongoing,” said Letloenyane
The pursuit began when Highway Patrol spotted the hijacked vehicle, with Fox Security in close pursuit.
The suspect lost control of the vehicle, leading to a crash, and one suspect was apprehended at the scene. Authorities recovered the hijacked vehicle and seized a firearm linked to the incident.
The coordinated effort by responding agencies resulted in a successful outcome, highlighting effective collaboration in tackling crime in the area.
