Suspect arrested after woman’s body found in a car boot in Brackenhurst

The suspect, identified by police as the victim’s husband, is currently in custody at Alberton SAPS.

A suspect is expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court following the discovery of a woman’s body in the boot of a vehicle at Bracken Square Shopping Centre in Brackenhurst.

Alberton SAPS confirmed that the suspect linked to the incident has been arrested and is currently in custody.

“The suspect was arrested today and has been identified as the victim’s husband. He is currently detained at the Alberton police station,” said Alberton SAPS.

The body of a woman was found in the boot of a white BMW 3 Series at the shopping centre on Friday, prompting a murder investigation by Ekurhuleni police.

The vehicle is reported to be registered to the deceased.

Police said investigations are ongoing and no further details are available at this stage.
