Residents reminded to attend Integrated Development Plan (IDP) session

The City of Johannesburg promotes collaboration amongst citizens to create a city that represents their needs and goals.

The City of Johannesburg (CoJ) continues its commitment to creating a city of inclusivity, opportunity, and transformation by emphasising the importance of public participation in decision-making processes through the Integrated Development Plan (IDP).

The IDP is a vital tool used by local governments to ensure the voices and opinions of community members are heard and considered in the planning and development of the city.

Following community-based planning meetings and a thorough analysis of inputs, comments, and suggestions, the council approved the draft IDP for the financial year 2024/25 for public consultation.

The CoJ encouraged residents to review the draft IDP on the city’s website and provide their valuable feedback and input. The closing date for submissions is May 9 at 17:00.

To further facilitate public participation the city has scheduled a series of IDP sessions in all seven regions. While some meetings have already taken place, the CoJ reminded residents to attend the remaining IDP session on April 18, from 16:00 to 20:00 at Brixton Multipurpose Centre.

Residents are encouraged to participate in these sessions, provide feedback, and propose changes before the final draft of the IDP is presented to the council for approval.

For more information, updates and to comment on the IDP visit the city’s website.
