Blood donated at the Marist Brothers Primary to save the lives of people in need

The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) has been saving lives with the help of their selfless volunteer donors and dedicated staff.

The Pulse Blood Donation held a blood donation event at Marist Brothers Linmeyer Primary School on March 25.

Learners, parents, and staff donated blood for patients who need it because of trauma, surgery, or illness.

A staff member, Michelle Becker who donated blood said, “I have been donating blood for over 20 years, and my blood is in demand because it is A negative. I have never experienced side effects.”

A 17-year-old Marist brothers learner, Yvez Moodley, was the first learner to donate blood at the event, and according to him, he chose to donate blood to save other people’s lives.
