Hoërskool President’s dance group shines at competition
The learners beat the odds and made a real impact by taking top honours.
The dance group IMPACT from Hoërskool President High School recently took first place at the Easter Dance Cup, hosted by the National Dance Society South Africa.
The team won first place in the Open Showcase Group category for dancers aged 18 to 19. This exciting event brought together dance teams from across the country.
A teacher from Hoërskool President shared their excitement: “For many of our learners this was the first time they had participated in a dance competition, and the experience was amazing for them.” The group impressed the judges with their strong energy and passion on stage. “The participants danced their hearts out and gave it their all,” said the teacher.

IMPACT is not part of a big or famous dance academy, but that did not stop them from shining. “For us as coaches, it is a great pride because we, as normal people, are not among these big dance schools – and our dancers excelled,” the teacher added.
The Hoërskool President school community is very proud of the group’s achievement. The win is not only a reward for their hard work, but also a reminder that talent and teamwork can come from anywhere. The team is looking forward to future competitions and hopes to inspire more learners to join the world of dance.
