The Dog Club hosts fundraiser to honour local support
The Dog Club marked its 30th birthday with compassion by raising funds to feed people in the community.
The Dog Club recently celebrated its 30th birthday by hosting a fundraiser at its Haddon branch to give back to the community.
Julie Bezuidenhout, an accredited animal behaviour consultant with over 25 years of experience, started The Dog Club in 1995.

Julie is trained in behaviour modification, dog training, pet grooming, kennel management, animal casting, animal handling, and working with people and animals.

She left her law career to follow her love and passion for animals. She also studied ethology, which is the study of animal behaviour.

The Dog Club believes in promoting better relationships between owners and their animals through grooming, training, and education.
“It feels like we haven’t worked a day in our lives because we love what we are doing,” she said.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to feed 300 people in the community.
“We are happy to give back for our 30th birthday,” she added.

The Dog Club has received many donations from clients and other organisations. They have also visited schools to collect more food.

Julie and her team started feeding people during the Covid-19 lockdown and have continued to help them.

“It feels surreal that my staff and I have come this far. I’m extremely grateful for everyone who has supported us throughout the 30 years, and I appreciate my staff for their commitment and care,” said Julie.
