Carnival unites Marist Brothers Linmeyer community

The MBL1 Carnival created unforgettable memories, all while raising much-needed funds.

On August 2, Marist Brothers Linmeyer hosted its first-ever MBL1 Carnival, a vibrant celebration that brought together families, friends, staff, learners, and supporters in a true spirit of unity.

Marketing assistant Nomshado Makhonjwa said a standout moment was the launch of the school’s inaugural Soap Box Derby, which quickly became a crowd favourite. “Families gathered to cheer and enjoy the fun-filled atmosphere,” she said.

Parent association chairperson Zita Gouveia added: “We hope everyone who attended felt the love, unity, and community spirit we experienced while working together. This event would not have been possible without the generosity of our sponsors, parents, staff, and learners.”

The day’s highlight was a live performance by MiCasa, which had the crowd singing and dancing along.

Thanks to the overwhelming support, the school has now reached its fundraising goal to purchase buses. “This achievement reflects the collective efforts of our community,” said Makhonjwa.
