New traders lounge brings hope and opportunity to the South

The grand opening of Fx Cartel Traders Lounge marked a major step in bridging the financial education gap in Johannesburg South.

A brand new space for financial education, mentorship and community upliftment has officially opened its doors at Columbine Village Shopping Centre.

The Fx Cartel Traders Lounge, launched in partnership with HFM (FSP No: 46632), welcomed guests and traders to its grand opening, with the aim of creating a supportive and inclusive space for traders of all skill levels.

Founded by Shamgar Pillay, a self-taught trader who began his journey during Covid, Fx Cartel Traders Lounge is more than just a place to learn how to trade. It is a community space created to empower individuals, especially young people, with the knowledge, tools and confidence they need to succeed.

“Whether you’re a beginner looking to start your journey into trading or someone wanting to sharpen your strategies, the Lounge has been designed to help you grow not just financially, but mentally and emotionally too,” said Sham, as he is fondly known.

“I can proudly say that I am now a successful trader and want to assist other aspiring traders. At Team Sham, we strongly believe in the power of education. We want to show our community, especially the youth, that financial freedom is possible through discipline, focus and support.”

Though young people are the focus, the Lounge welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds who are interested in learning more about Forex trading and wealth-building.

More than just a trading space

The Fx Cartel Traders Lounge offers a variety of programmes and resources, including trading strategies, signal groups and one-on-one mentorship.

The space is designed to be professional, modern and inviting. The lounge includes a coffee bar, a podcast studio, free Wi-Fi, live chart analysis and strategy talks for hands-on learning, an in-house barber shop and a business networking and meeting space.

One of the standout features of the Lounge is its in-house psychologist, a resource aimed at addressing the mental and emotional side of trading.

“Every trader will encounter losses. It’s how you manage your risk that will determine your outcome,” explained Sham. “You also need a solid psychological plan so your emotions don’t take control of your decisions.” The team believes that success in Forex trading is not only about strategy, but also about building emotional resilience, discipline and mental clarity.

To further spread knowledge and encourage open conversations, Fx Cartel also hosts a podcast on YouTube, where traders share their experiences, discuss market trends and break down common myths about the trading industry.

FX Cartel aims to become a leading provider of information and resources for Forex traders, offering a reliable and objective view of the markets. More importantly, it aims to create lasting change by uplifting communities through education, mentorship and opportunity.

The launch was a great success and saw a crowd of aspiring and experienced traders. Guests enjoyed delicious food and exciting giveaways, with many walking away with incredible prizes.

The launch not only marked the beginning of a new chapter for the trading community in Mondeor but also showcased the Lounge’s commitment to education and empowerment.

“I’m truly grateful to my wife, Vishelle Govender, and our incredible team for their continued support. None of this would be possible without them. We’re excited for what lies ahead as we continue to grow, give back and uplift our community together.”
