Alberton Lions support Breastfeeding Awareness at South Rand Hospital
Breastfeeding Awareness Month at South Rand Hospital ended on a high note as Alberton Lions Club handed over baby hampers and care bags to support moms and newborns.
The Alberton Lions Club proudly joined South Rand Hospital in celebrating Breastfeeding Awareness Month, where they were honoured as VIP guests at the closing ceremony.
The event, held at South Rand Hospital, was attended by hospital CEO Simphiwe Gada and public relations officer Samantha Meyers, who, together with the Lions, emphasized the importance of breastfeeding and maternal support.
Representing the Alberton Lions were Helen Britz, Alberton Lions South Rand Hospital Mommy Care Bags coordinator, along with Lions Hannetjie Harvie, Christle Verster, Grace van Wyk, Nisha Singh, Pat Hambley, and Tabita Kamwande.

The team handed over five special hampers to new mothers, each filled with baby essentials, including a breast pump to encourage and support breastfeeding.
Earlier in the week, the Alberton Lions ladies also delivered 25 Mommy Care Bags to the maternity ward, extending their outreach and bringing comfort to more families in the community.
This collaborative initiative marked the conclusion of Breastfeeding Awareness Month.
The Alberton Lions expressed their pride in partnering with South Rand Hospital to promote maternal health and provide essential care items to mothers and their newborns.
