Hundreds of pets sterilised for free in Walkerville

The successful joint effort brought hope to low-income pet owners.

Uzwela Animal Shelter, an NPO based in Elandsfontein offers affordable veterinary care and sterilisation services to low-income communities.

From September 15 to 18, Uzwela took part in a large sterilisation campaign organised by Woodrock Animal Rescue at Johnny Walker Pub Walkerville.

The event was sponsored by Let’s Spay SA and Jozi Feral Cat Carers. During the four-day campaign, 340 animals were sterilised at no cost to their owners.

This effort helps reduce the number of unwanted animals and promotes better health for pets in poor communities.

Uzwela is proud to be part of this important work and continues to support animal welfare in the area.
