Cake decorating guild announces workshop and new venue
Local decorators invited to an Easter workshop blending creativity, skills development, and a warm welcome at the guild’s new venue.
Local baking enthusiasts are invited to sharpen their skills and embrace their creativity at the upcoming Easter Egg Workshop hosted by the South African Cake Decorators Guild (SACDG), Alberton Gladiola Botha Branch.
Scheduled for March 3, the hands-on workshop will give participants the opportunity to learn and refine fondant modelling techniques while crafting charming Easter-themed figures.
SACDG was founded as an NPO in 1976 to promote the growth of the cake-decorating profession by hosting events and demonstrations nationwide.
The session, priced at R100 per person (including tea), promises a relaxed and supportive environment where both beginners and experienced decorators can share ideas and develop their craft.
Attendees are encouraged to bring basic tools, such as a rolling pin, spatula, paintbrushes, scissors, and pre-prepared fondant.
However, true to the guild’s welcoming ethos, organisers have assured participants that equipment will be shared, enabling everyone to take part regardless of resources.
In addition to the workshop, the branch has recently relocated to Alberton Retirement Village, 45 Kritzinger Road, Florentia, Alberton.
The new venue offers a welcoming space for demonstrations, training, and community gatherings, marking an exciting new chapter for the local guild.
Founded in 1976, SACDG continues to promote the growth of cake decorating as both a profession and creative outlet through workshops, demonstrations, and events held nationwide.
