Christian Family Church drives community upliftment across Alberton and Johannesburg South
Welfare teams deliver practical support, dignity, and care to vulnerable groups through coordinated outreach initiatives.
Communities across Alberton and Johannesburg south have benefited from a series of coordinated welfare and compassion initiatives delivered by Christian Family Church’s welfare teams.
Between January and March, as part of an ongoing community upliftment effort, trained volunteers partnered with local stakeholders to provide practical care, dignity support, and community relief to vulnerable groups.

These include the homeless, women, families with young children, emergency service workers, and senior citizens.
Key welfare initiatives included:
• Homeless outreach programmes
Regular outreach efforts were held at Gatwick Park and through a dignity mobile initiative, providing food, hygiene support, and direct engagement with individuals living on the streets.
• Babies and family support outreach
Welfare teams hosted multiple baby-support outreaches, offering essential supplies and practical assistance to families in need, with a focus on dignity and early-childhood care.
• Women’s welfare support
Dedicated outreach was conducted to support abused women, providing care resources, encouragement, and access to ongoing support networks.
• Senior citizens care
An aged-home outreach programme focused on engaging elderly residents through acts of kindness, care support, and meaningful interaction.
• Emergency services appreciation
Local firefighters were honoured through a dedicated appreciation initiative, where volunteers provided and hosted lunch as a gesture of gratitude for their service to the community.
• Community clean-up and beautification projects
Welfare initiatives were supported by broader acts of community service, including fire station clean-ups and neighbourhood beautification projects aimed at improving shared public spaces.

Representatives involved in the initiatives indicated that the focus was on meeting immediate needs while fostering connection, dignity, and hope within local communities.

All activities were carried out by volunteers working collaboratively across welfare, youth, and community service teams.

Community members are encouraged to continue supporting local welfare efforts that contribute to social upliftment and care within the Johannesburg South region.
