Support needed for Annual Kids Fun Day at Rietvlei Farm Zoo

Soldiers for Jesus Ministries is seeking donations, sponsorships, volunteers, and community partners to help make its 2026 Kids Fun Day a memorable and uplifting experience for children from disadvantaged communities.

Soldiers for Jesus Ministries (NPO) is calling on businesses, organisations, churches, and compassionate members of the public to partner with them to make a meaningful difference in the lives of hundreds of vulnerable children.

They are calling for support during their upcoming 4th Annual Kids Fun Day, scheduled for July 14 at Rietvlei Farm Zoo.

The annual outreach initiative is expected to host approximately 500 underprivileged children from the communities of Kliptown, Eldorado Park, and Westbury. The event has become a highlight for many children who rarely have the opportunity to enjoy safe recreational outings and structured social activities.

According to Russell Jones, director of Soldiers for Jesus Ministries, the event’s purpose extends far beyond entertainment.

“For many of these children, this day represents hope, joy, dignity, and the opportunity to simply be children in a safe and caring environment. We want every child to leave with lasting memories and renewed encouragement,” said Jones.

The full-day programme will include:

• Safe transport to and from the venue

• Nutritious meals, snacks, and refreshments

• Sports activities, games, and entertainment

• Educational and recreational experiences

• Supervision by experienced and licensed caregivers

Organisers emphasise that community support is essential to the success of the initiative and are appealing for assistance through financial sponsorships and donations, bus and transport sponsorships, food and beverage contributions, sports and activity sponsorships, entertainment and event support, as well as volunteer and caregiver assistance.

The ministry emphasised that every contribution, whether financial, practical or in-kind, will directly impact the lives of children from vulnerable backgrounds.

Sponsor and donor recognition

As part of Soldiers for Jesus Ministries’ appreciation efforts, all sponsors and donors will receive social media recognition and public appreciation, sponsor appreciation certificates, inclusion in post-event media and appreciation campaigns, recognition in official thank-you communications, and opportunities to participate in ongoing partnership involvement in future community upliftment projects.

Soldiers for Jesus Ministries has continued to play an active role in community upliftment initiatives across Gauteng, focusing on faith-based outreach, youth support, and assistance to vulnerable families.

Businesses, churches, organisations, and individuals interested in partnering with the initiative are encouraged to contact the ministry directly.
