As we live in a golf estate not far from Waterstone College, our drive to and from work is all along the school route from Waterstone, right through Mulbarton, Glenvista and to Glenanda North. It has come to our attention on many occasions, the very speedy and reckless driving of children’s transport vehicles, belonging to a few different companies. Seemingly the drivers who should be exercising extreme caution on our very dangerous roads, with cars and mini buses full of children, are in fact driving very dangerously, well above any of the relevant speed limits.
I understand they are on very tight time schedule’s every day so as not to be late, the fact remains that they are driving dangerously. They may boast that their track record accident wise is good so far, but we all know the roads are getting worse every day. To parents using this transport for their school children, my advice would be to follow them on a school run. You may be pleasantly surprised or really shocked! Whilst some might say that I should mind my own business, no matter how good a driver you may consider yourself to be, speed kills!
I am so grateful that my children are grown up and not having to use transport to and from school anymore.
