Thanks from the bottom of our hearts

We had our faith in humanity restored as everyone was supportive, helpful and caring.

A big thank you to the doctors involved as well as to the Union Hospital in Alberton and all their staff for the wonderful service we experienced.

My daughter recently had to have an MRI scan as she had been experiencing numbness on her left side.

Dr Djan (neurologist) diagnosed chiari malformation and she was immediately sent to ICU.

Dr T Mbuyane (neurosurgeon) operated the next evening. Both doctors were beyond amazing.

Dr Adri Kok (specialist physician) was so attentive and kept us informed all the time and Dr Constatinides (GP) was caring and concerned and supportive throughout.

This was obviously an extremely traumatic experience for my daughter as well as for the whole family, but thanks to all the staff at the Union Hospital: the paramedics who transferred her to Union, the team who were involved with the operation, as well as the theatre matron, the ICU staff, the staff in Section 3 Ward 3, Connie at the coffee shop and all the other cleaning and catering staff, counsellors, psychologist, Zimkhita Mdingi (physio) and Jessica Dent (OT).

We had our faith in humanity restored as everyone was supportive, helpful and caring.

A great big thank you as well to the incredible group of family, friends and acquaintances who supported us through this ordeal. We are so grateful for the miracles that saved our daughter.

Keep up the great work, Union Hospital!
