On Thursday, April 19, I attended a charity function at Harbour Fish and Grill in Meyersdal.
At about 11.30pm I realised my handbag had been stolen and Micaela Groenewald, who was our waitress the entire evening, immediately made the manager, Linton Deans, aware of the matter.
Linton ensured that this was announced in the restaurant and then went to view the CCTV footage.
He later called me to come and view the footage and I immediately recognised the woman and my handbag. Both Linton and Micaela ensured that I stayed with them, Linton had already notified the police.
Once the police arrived they found my handbag in the woman’s motor vehicle. I was requested to go and view the evidence. I requested Micaela to walk with me, she left everything that she was busy with and supported me through the entire process.
Both Micaela and Linton ensured that the police and my family had refreshments and were seated at an undistributed table.
To the Kodav Bulk Logistics team who identified how and by whom my handbag was taken and further went with the woman to the toilets, where they recovered my cellphone, thank you. They stayed with me until the end. Danie, Madeleine, Juan and everyone else, I say thank you very much.
Grateful customer
