I write with regard to the morning traffic saga each weekday at the intersection of Columbine and Vorster avenues. Where are the traffic officers?
What annoys me is most people are dropping children off at school at this time. Drivers seem to have no regard for traffic measures, and surely at a time when you know children are being carried in cars, extra care should be exercised.
Every single day as we approach the intersection from Potgieter Street, Suideroord, to turn right at the robots onto Columbine and Vorster avenues there is a line of cars with drivers who recklessly cut in from the opposite side. It is a straight lane as they have to wait their turn at the slip road next to McDonald’s.
It’s a total nightmare as these drivers are just arrogant and force their way in. Two years ago the traffic officers did an excellent job and apprehended so many of these offending drivers.
Now that no one is there to enforce the law, these idiots do as they please. Can something please be done to correct this uncaring attitude.
