Rude, inconsiderate motorists in parking lots and on roads

I have to say, I too was shocked at Comaro View Shopping Centre a few weeks ago, when a woman driver actually drove up the wheelchair/ trolley ramp to park her car!

DRIVERS in the south of Joburg, well most likely throughout the country, are totally inconsiderate to other motorists, on the roads and in parking lots.

Complaints are often received from readers who send in photographs of situations which leave them fuming.

One reader was parked in at The Glen Shopping Centre when she came back from shopping. “There was a 4×4 vehicle parked next to me on the driver’s side of my car, leaving me no option but to climb over from the passenger side to get in. This makes me see red,” she said.

Another reader who was trying to find a parking at Mall of the South on a Saturday said it made him furious when the driver of an SUV had parked out of the allocated parking bay. “There was hardly any spare parking bays available, and if I’d used the one behind this driver I’d have had the back end of my car sticking out into the main driveway of the parking lot at risk of being hit.”

NO SPACE: A woman at The Glen Shopping Centre saw red when a 4×4 had parked so close to her door she couldn’t get in.

I have to say, I too was shocked at Comaro View Shopping Centre a few weeks ago, when a woman driver actually drove up the wheelchair/ trolley ramp to park her car. She parked so close to the next car it made it impossible for the driver to get into his car when he came back. She was not amused and stormed off! I waited until she came back and she couldn’t have cared less, in fact, she was quite rude to me.

How many of you sit on the highways in queues of traffic, while inconsiderate drivers use the emergency lane, risking others’ lives if emergency vehicles need to get to an accident?

TOTALLY INCONSIDERATE: No shame here.

Yes, we certainly have our fair share of inconsiderate drivers here in the South!
