What utter nonsense is this? I honestly can’t get my mind around the stupid regulations put in place on Level 3 of lockdown.
There simply is no logic that explains these changes and there obviously did not go much thought into this, except for government to emotionally abuse its citizens. So on Monday, my domestic worker may return to work.
Now I wonder if the government expects me to go out and buy one of those temperature scanners and if domestic workers must also fill in the forms which every other working citizen is filling in when they report for duty at their place of work.
And if so, what do people do with this information – where and to who do you send the information you gathered from your domestic worker?
Why are they allowed to simply return to work without these measures in place by their employers?
I don’t know who she has been in contact with, I don’t know who she sat next to in the taxi, nor do I know how many people have been transported in that taxi. Yet, my children whom I know have been adhering to lockdown rules, may not travel to see me, nor may I travel to see them. I know they will travel alone in a car and so will I and I also know whom they have been in lockdown with.
Is there anything fair about? Is there anything about this that makes sense.
I may go to church and sit around with 50 other people, whom again, I have no clue where they have been and what they have been up to during lockdown. But I am not allowed to gather with my family, who at most is only 12 people?
I am of the opinion the government wants to show its citizens that they have us right where they want us – under government’s thumb. And that is where the citizens will stay for however long they can prolong this emotional abuse of the citizens.
Same with exercising – why do we still have a curfew on that? What if it is my choice to exercise between 6pm and 7pm because that is the only time I am able to go out for a jog?
The sale of liquor from Monday to Thursday – during working hours I may add. How ridiculous is that? With more people going back to work, and most of them only able to do their shopping over weekends, this regulation does not even makes sense.
And don’t get me started on the ban of the sale of tobacco products – we all know where and how this ends.
I cannot help to wonder what the government’s plan is to make up for the billions of rands lost due to irrational regulations.
Oh, maybe our taxes will increase – but somehow they will get it back again from the tax-paying citizens of this country.
And again, government failed in its efforts to get schools ready and now, many schools who are ready must again fall in line until government gives the all-clear and until such time government feels they are ready.
Let’s not forget, we may travel by plane from one province to another, but oh no, not by car because the air filtering systems on aeroplanes ‘eat all viruses, even the corona ….’ And for this reason social distancing is not necessary when you fly?
Maybe I should just leave it at that and take each day as it comes because things change in the blink of an eye. Whether it makes any sense or not … it sure does change.
Just wondering
