Soccer: Learners selected for District team

STORM Jonas and Dylan Diab, both grade 5 learners at Marist Brothers Linmeyer, were recently selected for the Easterns District u.11 2014 football team.

At the colours presentation held on September 19, Storm Jonas was named captain of the team and Dylan Diab vice-captain.

These two exceptional young footballers were also a part of the Alberton u.11 Premier team that won the league and cup for 2014.

For his outstanding season, Dylan was awarded the junior top goal scorer, scoring 36 goals in one season and was also named the u.11 Premier player of the year.

Storm Jonas was awarded the prestigious Tyrone Addison Junior Player of the Year. This award is a memorial award in memory of a young aspiring Alberton player who passed away in 2009. The last time this award was given was in 2010.

The Eastern`s u.11 district side that these boys represented and captained went on to win the KZN tournament held in Durban on October 10 and 11.

Both boys will be travelling to Portugal in March to participate in the Mundialito Youth tournament.
