10th Pink Day ODI at Imperial Wanderers

The 10th Pink Day ODI will take place on March 20 at Imperial Wanderers where the Proteas will take on Bangladesh.

Captain Temba Bavuma and the Proteas will welcome Bangladesh to South African shores throughout March and April in three one-day internationals (ODIs) and two test matches.

The curtain raiser is Friday at Centurion, followed by the 10th edition of the annual Pink ODI on Sunday after which the two teams will play the final at Centurion on March 23.

The ODI series will form part of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League, which is part of the 2023 Cricket World Cup qualifiers.

“We always go onto the field to win and this is also important for us to have a good match against Bangladesh on the 10th Pink Day ODI, said Bavuma.

“The proceeds of the game will also go for a good cause, and we hope to hit some big sixes and fours.”

Sponsors Betway SA’s David Rachidi said, “We will add to the total amount of sponsorship to breast cancer depending on how many fours and sixes are hit by the Proteas on Sunday at the Pink Day ODI.”

South Africa will be hoping for some positive results as they are languishing in 10th position out of 13 teams.

Durban will be hosting the first test from March 31 to April 4 and then Port Elizabeth closes off the tour in the second test from April 8 to April 12.

In the meantime, Pholetsi Moseki has been appointed CSA’s permanent CEO after 15 months of being the acting CEO from December 2020. It was announced on March 16 at Imperial Wanderers. Moseki’s position was confirmed by a unanimous decision on the part of the CSA board, which took nine months to find a CEO.
