The National Karate League, held over the weekend of April 19 to 21, was hosted by the national body of karate (Karate South Africa – KSA) in Bloemfontein at the Tempe Military Base. Friday

Friday saw kata (forms) for all the divisions and kumite (for children).

Both Gauteng kata teams came first (gold) and second (silver). Congratulations to the teams (Team Biagioni, Biagioni, Biagioni and Team Simm, Ngwenya, HoTong).

Karate South Africa is the national body for karate and only it can confer national Protea colours on elite athletes who excelled and represented South African karate on international stages.

On the Saturday, the kumite for all divisions, including the senior open and team kumite, the Gauteng senior kumite team came first (gold).
