Event confirms Johannesburg City Marathon route
The 2025 Johannesburg City Marathon will have more participants and aim to become one of the biggest marathons in South Africa.
Planning is well underway for the 2025 Joburg Marathon, with the route launch hosted at the Thaba Eco Conference Centre.
The March 30, 2025, marathon boasts a 42.2km route for which the entry fee will be R380, 21.1km at R280 and 10km at R180.
The marathon will start at the Klipriviersberg Recreation Center.
Starting times: 06:00 for the 42.2km and 21.1km at 06:30 for the 10km.
There was a question posed to Nathalie Roelf, the Johannesburg Harriers Club secretary, about the need for more parking for the marathon because parking was an issue at last year’s edition.
“The race committee has been in contact with Balwin Properties to use their premises for additional parking,” said Roelf.
