WATCH: Muddy Princess turns Rietvlei Zoo Farm into playground for empowerment
Hundreds of women and children embraced the mud for a day of fun, celebrating their strength and women empowerment.
On April 6, Muddy Princess hosted a thrilling 5km obstacle mud run at Rietvlei Zoo Farm in Alberton, attracting women of all ages, sizes, and fitness levels.
The event, focused on fun and empowerment, allowed participants to run, walk, crawl, climb, slide, and balance their way through a muddy course, making for an unforgettable ‘girls dirty day out.’

Muddy Princess emphasises inclusivity, offering obstacles with varying levels of difficulty to ensure everyone can join in.
The event saw a diverse group, from first-time mud runners to seasoned veterans, all supporting and encouraging each other along the way.

Nicole Fairman, from Muddy Princess, shared: “Inclusivity is core to our mission. We design obstacles with multiple difficulty options, so there’s always a way for participants to overcome each challenge.”
Many participants shared positive feedback, with some overcoming personal challenges and building confidence.

One woman, who was initially hesitant, crossed the finish line with newfound self-assurance. Another highlighted how the event helped her bond with her teenage daughter.
The event also supported PinkDrive, raising funds and awareness for women’s health. Muddy Princess looks forward to more events, encouraging women everywhere to step outside their comfort zones and join the fun.
