Curro Halala Cup action hits HeronBridge College: School teams battle for round 2 glory

Exciting football action takes center stage as regional qualifiers heat up, with teams competing for a spot in the next round.

The Curro Halala Cup has kicked off, with talented school football teams from across the country displaying brilliant skill on the pitch.

The regional qualifiers are delivering exciting matches as learners display talent and determination.

The tournament, which is a celebration of both sporting excellence and school spirit, had supporters creating an electric atmosphere on the sidelines.

Teams put in their best efforts to advance to the next rounds. HeronBridge College proudly hosted the celebration of sporting excellence as the champion school for the region, with the event organised by Executive Head Kenneth Checkley, Head of Sport Tshepiso More, and School Marketer Candice Gibson.

Rain did not dampen the energy – it was an action-packed afternoon at HeronBridge College, a Curro Select school.

The school proudly hosted the opening round of the Curro Halala Cup, with regional teams bringing the heat. Advancing to Round 2 are Curro Soshanguve, Curro Thatchfield, Clapham High, and Kings Robin Hills.

The latest results are as follows:

On April 23, The King’s School Linbro Park beat HeronBridge College 5–2.

On the same day, Curro Soshanguve and Curro Pretoria drew 1–1, but Curro Pretoria won 5–4 in the penalty shootout.

On April 24, Curro Thatchfield defeated Kings Robin Hills 3–1.

Also on April 24, Clapham High secured a 2–0 win against Sorina Sedibane.

Due to the bad weather, Curro advises that the Waterstone matches are postponed to May 7 and 8.
