The Box Office Project to host 25 fights
The weigh-in for a day filled with boxing action starts at 08:00.
On June 7, The Box Office Project will host the Johannesburg School Age Amateur Championship and Fight with Insight Club Tournament at Southern Suburbs Recreation Centre.
The event will start at 12 noon, with at least 25 fights on the day, giving club fighters and championship fighters the extensive experience required to progress as fighters.
Recently, Anton Gilmore had a great success story. Johnny Koen became the first two-weight division champion Master Box when he beat Greig Walker to capture the super middleweight title. βHe then retired, but we all know Johnny may be back for one more,β said Gilmore.
Ethan Peters made big news the past weekend at the Gauteng Championships when he captured the heavyweight title with his 8th KO in nine fights. Ethan is touted as a favourite for the South African title that will be hosted in July in Eastern Cape. Edson Tshuma got runner-up at the Gauteng Championship,β noted Gilmore.
Box Office has added a ladies’ class at 18:00, which Keith Mpala, the resident coach, will coach.
If anyone is interested in learning to box or mastering their technique, there are classes at 17:00 for children, women, and men.
