Ethan Peters (18), a boxer from Bella Vista, has made his mark in the boxing world by becoming the 2025 South African National Boxing Organisation (SANABO) super heavyweight amateur champion.
His performances were nothing short of impressive, showcasing exceptional skill, focus and power in the ring.
In the semi-finals, Peters faced a fighter from the Western Cape who could not withstand the onslaught of powerful punches. After taking a severe beating in the first round, the opponent failed to return for the second round, allowing Peters to advance to the final.

In the championship bout, Peters came up against another highly ranked SANABO fighter. Despite the opponent’s attempts to smother him through constant holding, Peters remained composed and stuck to his strategy.
He delivered a crushing body blow in the third round that ended the fight and secured him the championship title.
Peters’ technique, power and discipline were on full display throughout the tournament. He remained undeterred by his opponent’s unorthodox tactics and proved his readiness for higher levels of competition.
His father, Gregory Peters, expressed gratitude to the sponsors who supported his journey.

‘We want to show our gratitude to Errol Abrahams and family. Their kind support and generous assistance were highly appreciated. Also, to Anso Bracken and Karan Beef – their contributions played a significant role in Ethan’s success,’ said Gregory.
As the new 2025 SANABO Super Heavyweight Amateur Champion, Peters has set a high standard for himself and others in the boxing community.
