Pumas dismantle Bulls 41-7 to end their unbeaten Currie Cup run
Airlink Pumas storm back in the second half at Loftus to claim a dominant victory and top the log, leaving Vodacom Bulls reeling after their first defeat of the season.
The Vodacom Bulls’ unbeaten run in the Carling Currie Cup came crashing down at Loftus this weekend, as the Airlink Pumas thrashed the hosts 41-7 in a commanding display.
Trailing 10-7 at halftime, the Pumas unleashed a relentless second-half assault, scoring 31 unanswered points to seal a dominant victory.

Skipper Willie Engelbrecht led the charge with a try, quickly followed by Tiaan de Klerk and Ross Braude, whose converted try put the Bulls firmly on the back foot.
Late tries from Hanno Theunissen and Andre Fouche completed the emphatic win for the Mpumalanga side.
The Bulls managed just one try early on through Riyaad Bam, but it was a rare bright spot in a day overshadowed by the visitors’ superior execution and physicality.

The defeat sees the Bulls drop from top spot to fourth on the Currie Cup log, with the Pumas now leading on points difference after their second consecutive win.
This result not only reshuffles the standings but also sends a clear message: the Pumas are serious contenders this season, while the Bulls must regroup quickly to stay in the hunt.
