Coming up on Carte Blanche
On M-Net & M-Net HD [101], Sunday October 18 at 19:00.

JOHANNESBURG
Boiling Point
Gun shots echo through the informal settlement in Kya Sands as hundreds of rock-throwing protesters clash with armed police. It seems like just an ordinary day in South Africa, and just another service delivery protest over empty political promises. But, in the heart of many impoverished communities, tempers are flaring and angry protesters know that only through violence will their message be heard. From Port Elizabeth to Johannesburg, Carte Blanche takes to the streets to ask whether government has lost touch with its people.

Foul Dam Water 2
In June this year Carte Blanche exposed the shocking extent to which failed sewerage systems surrounding the Vaal catchment area are polluting this vital water supply. New evidence now reveals that multiple municipalities are knowingly pumping sewage directly into the Vaal or allowing pollution of the dam through sheer neglect. Carte Blanche shows government our findings and asks for answers as to what will be done about this ticking water quality time bomb?
Producer: Anna-Maria Van Niekerk and Annalie Potgieter
Presenter: Derek Watts
FPB Draft Bill
A proposed policy to regulate online content in South Africa is poised to return the country to a worrisome state of severely curtailed free expression. The Draft Online Regulation Policy proposed by the Film and Publication Board (FPB) is far-reaching and absolute in its censorship, with little clarity on practical implementation. But the FPB is determined to monitor posts on YouTube, blogs and on other forms of social media from April 2016. Are we about to return to the dark ages of enforced censorship? Carte Blanche investigates.
Producer: James Carroll
Presenter: Claire Mawisa
Cyber Bullying
Gone are the days of going to the library, standing in a line at the bank or writing an old friend a letter with pen and paper. With technology at our finger tips, we live and operate in a cyber world. But the anonymity the internet offers gives vindictive individuals the ability to verbally abuse and harass others without any real consequences or repercussions. Carte Blanche looks at the psychology behind this alarming trend in emotional abuse and asks what legal protection victims really have against cyber bullies?
Producer: Nicky Troll
Presenter: Bongani Bingwa
