Nic Rush brings legendary guitar anthems to life in Six Strings Stories at Carnival City
RENOWNED South African guitarist and rock music aficionado, Nic Rush, pays homage to some of the most memorable guitar anthems in a spectacular musical showcase, Six String Stories, at Carnival City’s Mardi Gras Theatre on August 26.
Six String Stories recounts the history of electric guitar based music, kicking off with music from the early days of bluesman Robert Johnson, hurtling through the 60’s rock sounds of The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and Santana, Stadium 80’s radio rock by Dire Straits, Prince and Van Halen and into the more modern anthems of Nirvana and Guns ‘n Roses and many more. From ‘Purple Rain’ to ‘November Rain’, fans will be taken on an electrifying journey of timeless guitar hits by some of the world’s most legendary artists.
The concert will also feature the voice of Josh Ansley, the popular runner up of the 2017 season of The Voice SA on Mnet and top 16 competitor Jacqueline Tolken on backing vocals
Michelle Smith, the Marketing Manager at Carnival City said they were thrilled to provide the stage for the esteemed Nic Rush and up and coming talent, Josh Ansley as they pay tribute to evergreen guitar hits.
“This is world class entertainment by two exceptionally talented South Africans. Don’t miss this musical treat,” said Smith.
