Lady of Lebanon South of Johannesburg held its 17th annual festival

In attendance was His Excellency Kabalan Frangieh, ambassador of the Republic of Lebanon to South Africa.

OUR Lady of Lebanon South of Johannesburg held its 17th annual festival on May 27 at the church grounds in Liefde en Vrede.

The festival held every year in May serves to commemorate the inauguration of the parish and is a valuable fund-raising event for various church charities and projects. In attendance was His Excellency Kabalan Frangieh, ambassador of the Republic of Lebanon to South Africa. Father Maurice Chidiac, Superior of the Maronite church of South Africa, opened the festival with a short prayer.

Non-stop entertainment was enjoyed by the crowds with PJ Pretorius, a finalist from The Voice SA, was part of the lineup as well as several others including firm favourite the Hizi-Hizi belly dancers. The day was well supported by crowds in excess of 2 500 people.
