Front Page Product will soon release an album
A MIDRAND hip-hop group, Front Page Product will be releasing their first album in early 2014.
The group originally had three rappers Michael “Micg” Gayi originally from Uitenhage, in the Eastern Cape, Nhlanhla “Madd scientist” Nkumane, originally from KwaZulu-Natal and the late Mntuwomzi “Master Touch” Tyewu.
The group started performing together in 2006. Michael Gayi, the co-founder of the hip hop group said, “The group members met through friends and decided to perform together as they had the same interests musically. We have released a number of mix tapes since the group started but we look forward to our new album next year.”
Group members said they were inspired by everyday street life. Front Page Product music is recorded, mixed and mastered by The Beat Hav at Front Page Product studios. Michael Gayi added that “the album includes songs such as Music is my life and I got to get it. The album will also to celebrate Mntuwomzi Tyewu’s life who passed away two years ago.
Carol Cane, a fan and photographer of the Front Page Product’s music is excited that the group has an album coming up. “I like Front Page Product’s music and think it is amazing, they offer a fresh hip hop sound.”
The group are resident performers at Bar 9 in Midrand every Fridays and Saturdays with DJ K Smackz in the VIP lounge. Front Page Product’s music is already playing at local and community radio stations including Capetown, Port Elizabeth, Durban and the North West.
