Lipizzaners perform in the spirit of Shumbashaba
KYALAMI - Shumbashaba stables held a fundraising event at the SA Lipizzaner centre in Kyalami.
Shumbashaba is a stable with a difference because they practise equine assisted therapy to treat patients with disabilities, and provide psychological and emotional support to underprivileged children of Diepsloot.
The SA Lipizzaner’s, which are the only performing Lippizzaners outside of Vienna, performed a special show in the spirit of Shumbashaba.
Internationally renowned singer, Brian Themba performed while children from Diepsloot and residents of the township’s Bona Lesedi disability centre were given the opportunity to interact with the Lipizzaner stallions by hand painting them.
Guests at the event were also treated to an appearance by Los Angeles celebrity animal communicator, Amelia Kinkade.
