St Peter’s College hosts Old Petrian’s water polo tournament

SUNNINGHILL - St Peter’s College hosted its 12th annual Old Petrian’s water polo tournament for girls at the Wahoo Aquatics centre and St Peter’s Girls Prep.

 

Twenty-eight schools across the country and one from Zimbabwe participated in the tournament.

The event was launched with a welcome dinner for the 360 players, coaches and managers at the college. Guest speaker was businesswoman Lee Den Hond who gave an inspirational presentation about her experience of summiting Mount Everest.

Teams were divided into four pools of seven teams each which competed for the Shield, Plate, Bowl, Fairplay and Cup trophies.

St Mary’s Waverley, Westerford, Durban Girls College and St Stithians competed for the Cup trophy in the semifinals on the final day.

Durban Girls emerged as the champions in the final against St Stithians, beating them 2-1.
