“It is about more than just winning games; it is about building confidence, making memories, learning important life lessons, and enjoying being part of a team.”

According to Friedman, the teams prepared really well for the tournament, training hard, working together, and staying committed throughout.

“A highlight of the day was the outstanding performance of our soccer team, who progressed all the way to the final after a series of impressive matches. Even though they lost on penalties, the way they handled the disappointment and kept fighting until the end showed real character and resilience.”

The teams definitely faced challenges, especially against strong opposition and in high-pressure moments.

“There were times when learners felt tired or nervous, but they stayed positive, supported one another, and kept pushing forward.”

What stood out most for Friedman was the amazing teamwork and support shown by the learners all day.

They encouraged each other constantly, celebrated together, and showed great respect to opponents and officials. Their sportsmanship made the school incredibly proud.

“The U11 soccer players can take so many positives from that experience.

They learned that sometimes sport can be heartbreaking, but those moments help players grow stronger. They showed courage, teamwork, and determination, and those are lessons they will carry with them for a long time.”

The school hopes to continue growing and building on these achievements in future tournaments.

“We want to keep creating opportunities for learners to develop their talents, enjoy sport, and represent the school with pride.”
