Fourways resident in the run for Schwarzkopf Professional Mrs South Africa crown.
FOURWAYS - Read up on the Schwarzkopf Professional Mrs South Africa hopeful.
Fourways resident, Melony Naidoo, who is currently in the running for the Schwarzkopf Professional Mrs South Africa crown, shared her journey in the competition thus far.
“I entered the competition because it is something I have always wanted to do as a ‘Mrs’, and currently being Mrs Lowveld, I felt what better time than the present to follow my dream. With Schwarzkopf Professional Mrs South Africa being a women empowerment programme, I would like to grow, be empowered, be inspired and do the same for others while proudly representing my country on such an amazing platform,” Naidoo said.
The Schwarzkopf Professional Mrs South Africa hopeful said that her journey thus far has been amazing and explained that she enjoyed being spoiled by sponsors, attending and supporting fundraising events for the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa), as well as building up the confidence to do things she would not ordinarily do.
“Going out and trying to get silver sponsorships as part of my journey, I can definitely say that I have pushed beyond my boundaries, which has been very interesting,” Naidoo expressed.
“Being in the competition has most definitely impacted my life. I have stepped outside of my comfort zone, which has not been easy. However, I believe it has taught me that you can do anything you put your mind to and work towards.”
Naidoo added that if she is crowned Schwarzkopf Professional Mrs South Africa she will continue supporting Cansa as the official charity of the competition, however, she will pursue her own goal of mentoring and coaching the youth by opening her own coaching centre because she believes that the community needs to shape the youth as they are the future.
“When I entered and got the news that I was selected as a semifinalist all I was thinking about was winning and what I was going to do to win that crown. However, after attending the top 100 semifinalist conference held at Emperors Palace the first weekend of March, I gained so much insight and just by being on this amazing journey has totally changed my attitude and mindset. No doubt, though, winning would be a dream come true for me,” she said.
Community members can vote for Naidoo by visiting the Schwarzkopf Professional Mrs South Africa Facebook page, searching for her picture and liking it, as well as the page.
“Your support and votes will mean the world to me and will definitely assist me on my journey to the crown. Please follow me on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook too,” Naidoo said.
The Cansa gala dinner will be held on 29 April at Emperors Palace where the top 25 finalists will be announced.
